Assortment of recipes to the members of the Popular Health Insurance in Mexico

Article published in 2008 by the Director General of performance evaluation and associates in the Revista de Salud Publica de Mexico. "The percentage of prescriptions fully stocked has improved in the outpatient units of the SESA, especially those that provide services to members at SPS and which vary by almost 90 . These figures, however, remain below those of outpatient units of social security institutions. The percentage of prescriptions filled in the SESA hospital units also have improved, but remain relatively low. In almost all states, as has increased the percentage of full assortment of recipes has increased the satisfaction of users with access to medicines. In 2006, over 50 of the states had high levels of full assortment of recipes among the members of the SPS ( '90 ). The biggest problem in this meaning is found in hospitals, as only 44 of users receiving a prescription in hospitals in the SESA in 2006 obtained the complete assortment of recipes. This finding makes us revise the drug policy of the SPS, it has privileged the inclusion of key high prescription but very low unit cost in outpatient services at the expense of higher cost medications and most effective therapy in hospital care, which are the most impact on the household economy.
